ASG Renaissance Expands Client Base with Purchase of Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
Dearborn, Mich., March 13, 2014 - ASG Renaissance, a Michigan-based professional services firm, has purchased the assets of Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (ELI), an engineering and technical staffing firm based in Troy, Michigan. With the purchase, ASG Renaissance is expanding its automotive client base as well as adding new employees from ELI.
“The purchase of ELI strengthens our core capabilities in engineering and IT while also expanding our client base within the auto sector,” said Greg Rouke, Chief Operating Officer, ASG Renaissance.
ASG Renaissance provides human capital and staffing, marketing and public relations, and advisory business services. ASG Renaissance primarily serves clients in the automotive, defense, vendor management, and environmental industries. As a supporter of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s, “Hiring Our Heroes,” program, ASG Renaissance works with active and retired military service personnel to find employment in civilian jobs by providing resume development, interview preparation, and career guidance services.
Founded in 1963 by Charles Meldrum, an aeronautical engineer, ELI started as an engineering firm offering customized engineering solutions to the auto industry. With the success of his engineering work, Meldrum saw an opportunity to expand the firm by providing his clients with onsite technical expertise in engineering, architectural and IT staffing. Upon his death in 2003, Meldrum’s wife Carolyn took over ownership and management of the company and, with her son Gordon Meldrum, gradually expanded the company into one of the region’s foremost technical recruiting agencies.
